She faces her past and present during an erotic journey of self-discovery
Story
An American trans man of Iranian origin returns to the past to the LGBTQ+ archive to understand his sexuality. This is a documentary film about gays, transgenders from a woman to a man and from a woman to a man. First of all, it concerns life after the transition, paying little attention to the transition process itself.
There are two main categories of topics
This also applies to those whose physical orientation is male. One of them is Lou Sullivan, a trans activist who was also a pioneer in identifying as gay. It is represented by numerous excerpts from interviews that he gave on television, as well as recordings by one of his correspondents.
It is wrapped in narrative drama
The second is a series of interviews with various transgender people of different body types and anatomy: one subject, identified as male, insisted on holding her vagina. They often have difficulty finding intimate partners, although Trans-nights in gay baths really help them not to explain themselves. An American trans man of Iranian descent (who left Iran shortly after the revolution) goes to a queer archive in Chicago to do research and befriends a younger and more masculine transgender employee.

This hybrid approach added interest and made you feel something more than just the dryness of a simple documentary. I saw it as part of a film festival where the actors and the director were present. The director said that an Iranian actor helped conduct a short “proof of concept” to raise funding and was hired to add Iranian touches to the script.
The second actor was an activist in his own right, and his role was written with him in mind
